Oklahoma SDA Handgun Permit Education

This course satisfies the educational requirements when applying for the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act (SDA) Handgun permit.

  • Cash is always welcome. Credit and debit cards accepted for balance plus 3.5%. Payable immediately before course begins.
  • Firearm: Students encouraged to bring their own firearm. The firearm may be a semi-automatic or revolver, .45 caliber or less, with .22LR suggested. Pistols (22LR) with ammunition will be available for rent.
  • Ammunition: Students should bring 200 rounds of factory ammunition, or at least 100 rounds. Reloads, commercial or home-made, are not permitted.
  • Eye and hearing protection: Students should bring eye and hearing protection, with electronic hearing protection recommended.
  • Clothing: Students should wear appropriate range attire, which does not include open-toed shoes or low-cut clothing.
  • Other items: Students should bring pencil and note pad.
  • Instructor will provide snacks and water, but not a meal. Restaurants are available nearby.

To successfully complete course:

  • Attend entire course. Participation encouraged.
  • Score 70% on the course test
  • Pass the live-fire qualification
  • No refunds are provided
