This four-hour classroom course is built on current Oklahoma Self-Defense Act (SDA) handgun permit law and focuses on the legal and practical responsibilities of carrying a firearm for personal protection.

The course is designed for individuals who carry under Constitutional (Permitless) Carry, as well as those holding permits issued prior to October 2023. Oklahoma self-defense and use-of-force laws have undergone significant changes, including updates as recent as March 2025, which directly affect when and how a firearm may be used for self-protection.

Students will gain a clearer understanding of the legal considerations surrounding defensive firearm use and what to expect in the aftermath of a self-defense incident. This classroom-only experience is intended to better prepare you for the legal realities of a post-shooting event.
